The Team 355 Committee was formed to support the Reno Rodeo Foundation, a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.  The Reno Rodeo Foundation was formed to serve as the charitable arm of the Reno Rodeo.  The Team 355 Committee got its name because the Reno Rodeo lasts 10 days, and the Team 355 Committee spends the other 355 days of the year working to support the work of the Reno Rodeo Foundation. Team 355 Committee is a secondary committee, and all members have another primary committee that they serve on each year during the Reno Rodeo.

Team 355 members help the foundation carry out many fund-raising activities throughout each year.  The biggest event is the annual Denim Drive, which takes place in November and December.  Team 355 members distribute collection bins, posters, banners, and denim dollars to over 100 businesses throughout Northern Nevada the first week of November. Those businesses collect new clothing donations. Then the first week of January, we collect all the donated clothing and take it to the Kids Kottage for sorting and preparation for distribution to foster children.  We then help facilitate the distribution of clothes, teddy bears, backpacks, books, and other miscellaneous items to foster families, usually the last Saturday in January.  Ask anyone who has helped with this event, and they will tell you it brought lasting memories and possibly tears of joy to them and excited smiles to hundreds of children and foster parents.

At other kids’ events during the year, the Foundation takes ropes and roping dummies, stick horses, barrels and poles, and hands out Reno Rodeo stickers to promote the Reno Rodeo.  Team 355 members help introduce children to roping and pole bending and other fun rodeo events.

Below is a partial list of other events that the Reno Rodeo Foundation puts on or participates in during the year where Team 355 members have an opportunity to help the Foundation raise money and increase awareness of the Reno Rodeo and the Reno Rodeo Foundation and of the contributions they make to improve the lives of all foster children in Northern Nevada.

Team 355 Committee is always looking for new volunteers who love working with kids and with the public at fund raising events.  This is a great way to help provide support to foster families in our community during the rest of the year, when the amazing Reno Rodeo is not in session.
